Arriving at Reykjavik you will experience a personalized transfer, without a tour guide, using the Flybus/Reykjavík Excursions shuttle from Keflavík Airport to BSI (bus station). Upon reaching BSI, switch to another bus that will transport you to your accommodation in Reykjavík, where you’ll spend your first night. Your travel documents include a distinct voucher for the Flybus shuttle, conveniently located outside the arrivals hall by the main exit of the airport.

At 09:00, you’ll rendezvous with our guide at Reykjavík Natura Berjaya Iceland Hotels, Nauthólsvegur 52, 102 Reykjavík, to kick off your adventure. We’ll journey through the scenic Hvalfjörður fjord and the charming town of Borgarnes. Enjoy an easy hike at the Grábrók volcanic crater set amidst a lush lava field, with recommended attire being hiking shoes and warm clothing. The hike typically spans 30-45 minutes round trip.

Later in the day, we’ll explore Glaumbær, a captivating peat farm and folk museum. Our journey continues, traversing picturesque fjords and mountain passes, leading us to Akureyri, the vibrant capital of Northern Iceland. Spending the night in Akureyri allows you to leisurely explore the city on foot.

Marvel at the peculiar lava formations at Kálfaströnd, the pseudocraters at Skútustaðir, and the Hverfjall tephra cone. In the morning we hike in the lava labyrinth of Dimmuborgir, the “Dark Castles,” hoping to catch a glimpse of the trolls that are said to live there. We visit the Námaskarð hot springs area with bubbling mud pools and steaming solfatars. We drive through the uninhabited highlands and lunar-like environment to East Iceland. With a bit of luck, we will spot an arctic fox or see a reindeer.

East Fjords, Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach (21.10.2024)

In the afternoon, witness the grandeur of Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest glacier, dominating the southeast Icelandic horizon.

The original geyser has given way to Strokkur, which erupts at regular 5-7 minute intervals.

Next, venture to Gullfoss, the mesmerizing “golden waterfall,” where waters plunge 34 meters into the Hvítá River, captivating travelers year-round. Our journey then takes us inland to Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
