Churchill Island is a 50.7-hectare island in Western Port, Victoria, Australia. It is connected by a bridge to Phillip Island, which is in turn connected to the mainland by another bridge. It is the site of the first European garden in Victoria.

Opening hours: Open every day from 10:00 to 17:00 and at 14:00 on Christmas Day

Daily farming activities:

2.10pm                 cow milking
2.30pm                 sheep shearing
2.45pm                 whip cracking
3.05pm                 working dogs
3.20pm                 sheep shearing

1.00pm – 1.45pm Wagon rides.  (Weekends, school and public holidays only – weather permitting)

Koala Conservation Centre

Nature preserve with boardwalk trails allowing for views of koalas, plus interpretive information.

Koala Conservation Reserve is open:
– 10am to 5pm daily (First Sunday in April to first Saturday in October)
– 10am to 5:30pm daily (February 1 to first Saturday in April and first Sunday in October to Christmas Day)
– 10am to 6pm (Boxing Day to end of January)
– 2pm to 5:30pm (Christmas Day)
* Please note: last access to Koala viewing boardwalks is 15 minutes before closing time

Phillip Island Nature Parks

Take a waddle on the wild side and see wild penguins at the world-famous Penguin Parade, Phillip Island – only 90 minutes from Melbourne.

Seat Options:

  • General Viewing (Tiered seating in the General Viewing stands overlooking Summerland Beach.) General Viewing ticket holders should plan to arrive at least 1 hour before penguin arrival time.
  • Penguins Plus (Superb up-close viewing from the tiered seating in Penguins Plus.) Penguins Plus ticket holders should plan to arrive at least 1 hour before penguin arrival time.
  • Underground Viewing (Get an eye-level-view of the Little penguins in the RACV Underground viewing experience. ) Underground ticket holders should plan to arrive 30 minutes before penguin arrival time.

Nobbies Antarctic Journey

Take a virtual journey into the wonderful world of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica and engage with the many interactive and immersive experiences in this exhibition, a joint venture between Phillip Island Nature Parks and WWF-Australia.

Opening hours

Last entry to the Antarctic Journey at the Nobbies is approximately 2 hours before sunset each day, and the Nobbies Centre itself closes approximately 1 hour before sunset each day to protect the native wildlife.

EcoBoat Tour

Enjoy an up close encounter with one of Australia’s largest colonies of fur seals and see these amazing marine mammals in their natural environment. Experience the fun and adventure of a high speed 90 minute boat ride along Phillip Island’s spectacular coastline before pulling in to a protected inlet to see the seals and their antics.

Things to Know

  • Free WiFi on board
  • All participants must be at least 4 years of age.
  • All participants must be at least 100cm tall.
  • Passengers with back, neck, shoulder or heart conditions, those who are pregnant or who have injuries/conditions that may cause a risk to their health are advised to not do these tours, or do so at their own risk
  • Open waters and unpredictable sea conditions could cause physical injury, psychological stress or motion sickness.
  • Eligibility of passengers to participate in the tour is at the discretion of the Captain who has the right to refuse passage
