One of the youngest of the world’s major cities, Johannesburg was founded in 1886 following the discovery of gold and is today, South Africa’s largest city. This ‘City of Gold’ emanates an electric energy, buzzing with new marketplaces, breweries and restaurants, jazz clubs and artistic enclaves. Sample the huge diversity of cuisines cultivated by the city’s mix of cultures at the Yeoville Food Market and learn about Johannesburg’s history at one of many fascinating museums.

Days 3–6
April 4–7, 2026: Pilanesberg National Park – Big Five Safari
You’ll transfer from Johannesburg for a secluded lodge nestled within the Pilanesberg National Park, a place of breath-taking beauty and serenity and home to abundant wildlife and bird species. During your three-night stay, you’ll join daily bush walks and game drives in Pilanesberg National Park, conducted by experienced rangers and game trackers. They are always eager to share their knowledge of the environment and will also happily assist you with any wildlife photography. This is a thrilling way to experience the incredible African wilderness and game: here, you’ll track down Africa’s ‘Big Five’– the elephant, lion, leopard, Cape buffalo and rhino. Joining the Big Five are an abundance of game including rare species such as wild dog or cheetah, plus more than 300 bird species.

Days 6–8
April 7–9, 2026: Victoria Falls & Zambezi River Sunset Cruise
Enjoy an incredible Victoria Falls walk and a sunset cruise.
You’ll fly on to Zambia and historic Livingstone, located near Victoria Falls, one of the world’s biggest waterfalls. During your two-night stay, you’ll take a guided walking tour around the majestic falls, encountering spectacular views of the tumbling cascades crashing over the cliffs, and plunging into whirlpools below. Later, you’ll embark on the Lady Livingstone River Safari for a boat cruise along the Zambezi River, admiring the wildlife and stunning sunset.

Days 8–11
April 9–12, 2026: Cape Town & Cape Peninsula Tour
During your three-night hotel stay, you can explore the treasures of Cape Town. Hopping on a cable car to Table Mountain’s summit, you’ll have unforgettable panoramic views of your surroundings. Whilst here, you’ll relish a full-day Cape Peninsula tour; through a combination of guided visits and solo sightseeing, you’ll delve deeper into the area’s natural and historical wonders including catching a glimpse of seals in bustling Hout Bay, whisk through dense foliage as you glide up the 249 meters on The Flying Dutchman Funicular to be rewarded with breathtaking views over the Atlantic Ocean and savour fantastic sightings of the endangered land-based African penguins frolicking on Boulders Beach.

Transfer to the Cape Town cruise terminal and board the Queen Mary 2 for a 6:00 PM departure.
